McKinney Dining: Restaurant Week News

Posted on August 13, 2018 at 4:34 PM by Beth Shumate

Among McKinney's top downtown restaurants are two - Eclair Bistro and Sugarbacon  Proper Kitchen - that were selected to take part in Dallas's Restaurant Week again this year. Both restaurants are participating for all three weeks of the annual event, which started August 13 and runs through the first weekend in September. (Note: Restaurant Week, now in its 21st year, benefits the North Texas Food Bank and Lena Pop Home.)

Chef Aaron is offering a three-course menu for the participation in Restaurant Week. Each course at this French/American bistro offers three options from which to choose for the event price of $49 per person. In addition to the Restaurant Week menu are chef suggestions for appetizers, additional vegetable choices, and a chef-paired three-wine flight.

Regular dining options (not during restaurant week) feature entrees, appetizers, and desserts made with fresh-always ingredients hand-picked by Chef Aaron. Eclair Bistro also offers special Chef Dinners throughout the year; advance reservations are required for these. A special feature during the chef dinners is a 3D projection show on the table while you wait for your food. There are multiple choices from which to choose. Note: Eclair Bistro is the only restaurant in North Texas to offer this cool, special experience. (See photo above)

The team at American-cuisine eatery Sugarbacon Proper Kitchen are offering three courses for $49, with paired wines for each course at $28, or $11 a glass. Their menu offers four appetizer options, four main entree options, and three decadent dessert choices.

Sugarbacon's regular dining options include both lunch and dinner every day (opening at 11 a.m. every day) and brunch on Sundays (closing at 3 p.m. Sunday only). The restaurant serves American-style food but with a Texas twist, all housed in a greatly refurbished old-time gas station.
