  1. Dinosaurs Live! at The Heard

    September 1, 2018 - February 18, 2019 @ Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary

    Encounter the 46-foot T-Rex and nine new life-size animatronic dinosaurs along the Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary’s nature trails at the 13th annual Dinosaurs Live! Life-size Animatronic Dinosaurs exhibit. The exhibit always gives families and friends a fun, educational activity to enjoy together. See the dinosaurs move and hear them roar! Photo op and play area dinosaurs will be available as well. This year, the exhibit also features an outdoor fossil dig. The dinosaur trail is jogging stroller friendly (it is not suitable for strollers with small wheels or wheelchairs).

  2. The Vintage Piano Hour with Tony Stride

    Step back in time to the exciting golden era of piano music with Tony Stride! This show is the featured show of the Vintage Piano Hour's 2018, and in addition to Mr. Stride's ivory tickling will also feature a CD release and the unveiling of the season's artist in residence, Andrea Holmes and her Ragtime inspired artwork! Funded in part by the McKinney Art Commission.

  3. Learn How to Bake French Macarons

    October 25, 2018, 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM @ Savor Patisserie

    Learn to bake French macarons like a pro in one of our 2-hour hands-on baking classes. During class, you will work in a small group to make a batch of French macarons. Each person will take home a gift box of macarons that they made, a recipe card and a Savor tote bag as well as the tips and tricks shared in class for perfecting macaron baking at home.

  4. An Evening with Adrian Legg

    The Guitar Sanctuary presents an Evening with Adrian Legg at The Sanctuary Music and Events Center on Thursday October 25th at 8pm (Doors open at 7). Adrian will be performing 2 intimate 45 minute sets with a brief intermission.   5. Nature Story Times

    These story times are designed primarily for children and will introduce a different nature-themed book each week. During most of the story times, a puppet, live animal or enrichment items will be included to enhance the experience. These programs should last approximately 30-45 minutes depending on the book covered.

  7. Derek Anthony Give Back Concert

    The Guitar Sanctuary and the BLUANT Music Group are proud to present a special Give Back concert with Derek Anthony and special guest Julia Hatfield on Friday October 26th at 8pm (doors open at 7) at The Sanctuary Music & Events Center. This Signature Series Concert will benefit 2 special Children's Charities, with a donation made to each for every ticket sold. VIP Tables with seating for 4 directly in front of the stage are $150 per table. Downstairs Seats (First come, First Serve) are $25.   11. McKinney Fall Festival and Monster Dash 5k

    October 27, 2018, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM @ Tupps Brewery

    Join us in McKinney, Texas for a family friendly fall celebration! We're kick starting the festivities with the MONSTER DASH 5K at 9am! Plan your costume and purchase your tickets NOW to the Monster Dash before we are sold out! All 5k participants will receive an event t-shirt, swag bag and finishers medal! The course is chip timed! We'll have awards for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place overall male and female winners! Make sure you wear your costume!! They are HIGHLY encouraged!   12. Native Plant Society of Texas Fall Landscaping Class Schedule Announced

    The Native Plant Society of Texas is offering 15 landscaping classes this fall at 10 different locations around the state. The one-day classes are part of the Native Landscaping Certification Program, a series which teaches best practices for native plant landscaping – including wildlife habitat gardening. Classes are intended to be useful both to homeowners and professionals. Four levels are offered this fall. Anyone may register for a Level One class, which is a prerequisite for all the other levels. New this year is Landscaping for Birds which is being offered only in McKinney as a pilot program. It will be offered in additional locations next spring if there is sufficient interest. Each class includes both classroom instruction and fieldwork, with an emphasis on helping students become familiar with the identification and use of specific plants native to their region.

Please join us as Kate introduces us to the fascinating world of BATS! With over 25 years’ experience in presenting live animal programs plus an additional 9 years as a rehabilitator, Kate knows her BATS! She will include a bat or two which she is certainly working with during her presentation. She will truly open our eyes to the bat world. This will be a lively presentation that you will not want to miss! Kate presents educational programs throughout the DFW Metroplex. She is a permitted Texas Parks & Wildlife Department Rehabilitator in bats, opossums, and raccoons and a member of many local and national wildlife groups.
