McKinney Repertory Theatre & Young Actors Guild
McKinney Repertory Theatre (MRT) was incorporated with the State of Texas in January 2003 by a group of local amateur actors who have worked together for several years to present plays and musicals in a community theater format. Each fall, MRT opens a new season of plays at the McKinney Performing Arts Center and hosts other special events including "McKinney Has Talent" (a local talent show) and the "Broadway Bound" Children’s Summer Musical Program.
MRT’s Young Actors Guild was established by MRT in 2009 with the goal of helping children and teens learn how important their endeavors are whether onstage, behind the curtain or as supporters of the arts, and to offer youth the opportunity to become involved. Call 972-542-1603 for more information on either group.
The McKinney Repertory Theatre receives partial funding for its productions through the City of McKinney Arts Commission.

This comedy troupe performs three to four shows a season at the McKinney Performing Arts Center Courtroom Theater – “bringing comedy to the courthouse!” The clean show is safe for most ages as these funny ladies provide a comedy club atmosphere far from the big city.
