Sampling Downtown McKinney Treats with Food Walks of Texas
Posted on January 23, 2018 at 1:24 PM by Beth Shumate
Back in November, we blogged about the soft launch of Food Walks of Texas, a fun new tour option in downtown McKinney. a new tour option on our downtown square. If you'll recall, owners and McKinney residents Paul and Lali Miles
started the tour service after experiencing such tours in other cities.
They offered inaugural tours during Home for the Holidays, and recently launched their website where guests are able to get more information and schedule tours!
The tour with Food Walks of Texas is a casual three-hour walking tour showcasing delicious culinary options available in downtown McKinney. Included in the six-stop tour is a taste of McKinney history as well. Also, following them on social media will provide you with the inside scoop about new tasty spots downtown. (For example, they recently featured Layered which just celebrated its grand opening this week on east Virginia. And at right is a photo of a stop at the candy case at Goodies Texas.)
"We are in high gear," Lali Miles said. "We have the main tour up and going, are talking to restaurant partners about a potential second tour, and are looking at a special Valentine's Day offering that we'll be announcing soon."
Guests can now learn more about the tours on the newly-launched website,
. Here, you'll find information about the tour stops, what to expect on the tour, and a link to their online reservation kiosk. (Just click on the "Book Now" button in the top right corner of any page of the website.)
Tours are offered on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The per person cost is $59 for ages 12 and up. No stops include a full meal, guests will enjoy special tastings at each tour stop, enough food for a satisfying lunch for most people.
