Sail On band group photoMcKinney Community Concerts, a subscription concert series in McKinney since 1974, is set to begin its 46th season, this year with a feature allowing purchase of individual tickets on the night of the concert.

Christ Fellowship Church (2801 Orchid Dr.) is the home of this year's season, with more than 1,000 seats for concertgoers. In past years, tickets for this concert series have only really available by subscription. Now with ample seating and lighted parking, McKinney Community Concerts is offering individual "day of" tickets for $50 each. Season subscriptions are $120, which includes six concerts and a free passport to 22 more shows at four different concert associations in Northeast Texas. There are a limited number of complimentary tickets for those in need. All seats are general admission; no reserved seating.

The 2019-20 season gets underway Sept. 13 with Sail On, a Beach Boys tribute band. Other concerts include the Three Redneck Tenors (Oct. 11), Dan Miller's Cowboy Revue (Nov. 8), Tajci: Waking Up in America (Jan. 10), Loren and Mark (Feb. 7), and Savannah Jack (March 27).

Tax-deductible donations from generous donors and corporate sponsors help fund the McKinney Community Concerts, including a grant from the McKinney Arts Commission. Local grocers and restaurants donate food and drinks the visiting performers.
