McKinney has always, or at least for as long as we can remember, been a very welcoming and active city for musicians with many venues for live music, music schools, and even some high-quality music stores. It only made sense for Visit McKinney to pursue an official Texas Music Friendly Community designation through the Texas Music Office of the Office of the Governor, an honor awarded to the city in May 2020 in the midst of the COVID pandemic. This is an important factor for the team at Visit McKinney in our mission of creating positive economic impact for the city.
Now, just over a year later, Downtown McKinney is proudly hosting the 25th Texas Music Revolution. a two-day celebration of Texas music. The event moved here in 2021 from Southfork Ranch where it had taken place over the past few years. During the weekend of June 4-5, Downtown McKinney will feature two days of musical celebration with more than 80 of the best bands Texas has to offer, 25 venues, 100 stores, and 25-plus bars and restaurants.
