What is the Sports HOT Grant?

Funded through Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT), the HOT Grant provides organizations with financial support for events that directly enhance and promote McKinney, Texas as a sports tourism destination. Funding is contingent on the production of a minimum room night requirement. These funds can be used to pay for costs directly associated with the production of the sporting event and are paid on a reimbursement basis after the conclusion of the event, submission of a post-event report, and confirmation of necessary production.

A limited amount of funding is available, and grants will be awarded based on eligibility and impact to McKinney. The grant is not to be used as ongoing funding to maintain or finance operations of an organization.
