Exciting Changes in Store for Visit McKinney
We want to make the experience even better for guests at our Visitors Center and store as well as our offices. The construction portion of our renovation, thanks to the great work and craftsmanship of NorTex Painting, was finished in just over a week's time, so we were able to move back in with new-to-us furniture and move our old furnishings out. We've reopened and are offering limited visitors services, as our new brochure and map racks aren't here yet. It'll take us a while to rebuild our new-and-greatly-improved visitor experience center, but in the meantime, we are still offering you the best possible assistance in person, and via phone and email to help you learn about what awaits you in McKinney, assist you in planning events, and more. (Find our contact information HERE.)
For now, you can keep up with our progress here on this page of our website where we've been posting pictures of the work, including some walls coming down, new paint, furniture, and more. You may also see the work in person when you walk by our Visitors Center at 200 W. Virginia. Our artist friend Cody (@thedudeart on Instagram) painted a tourist viewing scope on our front window to allow you to see what's going on inside!
Also once the work is complete, we'll be creating comfy seating areas for our guests as well as setting up a new shop of trendy and fun new merchandise - t-shirts, hats, mugs, and other great gifts and souvenirs.
When everything is complete, a visit to our Visitors Center and store won't just be a stop on your time in McKinney; we want it to be part of your McKinney experience ... a fun and memorable part that'll make you want to return to see us again and again!
