Championship Weekend in McKinney

McKinney will proudly hosts the NCAA Division II Football Championship once again on , in partnership with the Lone Star Conference, McKinney Independent School District, City of McKinney, and Visit McKinney. Since 2018, the community has welcomed student-athletes, families, and fans from across the nation for this celebrated event.

The championship marks the pinnacle of the Division II season, where two elite teams compete for the national title. The game takes place at the 12,000-seat McKinney ISD Stadium and Community Event Center, a premiere venue with premium amenities and exceptional sightlines, designed to deliver an unforgettable game-day experience.

Fan Fest brings fans, school bands, cheerleaders, and the McKinney community together with food and drink available for purchase. The free Downtown Trolley runs late (until 8:15 p.m.) on Friday between Historic Downtown and TUPPS.

Game day, done right

1 Start at Fan Fest on Friday Head to TUPPS Brewery at 6 p.m. for bands, cheerleaders, and both fan bases, with the free trolley running late between downtown and the brewery.
2 Tailgate Lots open about three hours before kickoff. Tailgating in General Admission lots is encouraged with one space per vehicle, cleaned up 15 minutes before the game.
3 Cheer on Your Team Cheer on two elite teams with 12,000 seats and sightlines that make every play visible.
4 Celebrate Downtown The square's restaurants are ten minutes away for a post-game dinner, win or lose.

Before you go

Parking lots open about three hours prior to game time and close two hours post-game. Tailgating in General Admission lots is encouraged; vehicles may only occupy one space, and trailers, campers, buses, or RVs may not park in general lots. Tailgate areas must be cleaned up no later than 15 minutes before the game.

The free Downtown Trolley runs late hours (until 8:15 p.m.) on Friday, December 18, back and forth between Historic Downtown and TUPPS Brewery. Two parking garages sit an easy walk from TUPPS.

From bed-and-breakfasts and boutique hotels downtown to national brands, McKinney has plenty of places to rest between Fan Fest and kickoff.
