Question 1

When is McKinney Oktoberfest 2026?

Accepted Answer

The festival runs Friday, September 25 through Sunday, September 27, 2026 in Historic Downtown McKinney. Hours are Friday 5 – 11 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m. – 11 p.m. and Sunday 12 – 5 p.m. Sunday is the shortest day, so plan an early arrival if that's your only chance to come.

Question 2

How much does it cost to attend?

Accepted Answer

Admission to the festival grounds is free. Certain activities and areas — including the Blue Box VIP Biergarten and some food and drink — require a purchase and/or registration. Several competitions, such as the Weenie Dog Races and the TUPPS Brat Eating Competition, are free to enter.

Question 3

Where is it, and where do I park?

Accepted Answer

The festival takes over Historic Downtown McKinney, centered on 111 N. Tennessee, McKinney, TX 75069. Street closures mean the usual downtown parking pattern changes for the weekend; festival parking and shuttle details for 2026 are [TBC].

Question 4

Is it good for families?

Accepted Answer

Yes — children's activities, German music and dancing, and the Weenie Dog Races are all part of the free festival. The one exception is the Blue Box VIP Biergarten, which is 21+ only, though children in strollers are welcome there. Meet the Brewmaster Sessions are also 21+.

Question 5

Is TUPPS part of McKinney Oktoberfest?

Accepted Answer

TUPPS Brewery puts up the prize package for the TUPPS Brat Eating Competition, where entrants have 8 minutes to eat as many "naked" brats as they can. It's free to enter and limited to the first 10 people to register. If you'd rather hear about the beer than compete, the free Meet the Brewmaster Sessions run at the Bavarian Experience Stage on W. Louisiana Street, 21+.

Question 6

What comes with a VIP pass?

Accepted Answer

Pre-ordered VIP multi-day passes include a commemorative stein, the official McKinney Oktoberfest pin, an exclusive VIP T-shirt, two beer vouchers and two food vouchers. The pass also gets you into the Blue Box VIP Biergarten, with its own beers, food, live music and restrooms.

Question 7

How do I buy a VIP pass or sign up for a competition?

Accepted Answer

VIP passes are pre-ordered, and each competition has its own registration — the Weenie Dog Races go through Eventbrite, and the brat eating competition takes only the first 10 entrants. Current ticket links and registration forms are on the festival's own [tickets and details](https://downtownmckinney.com/events/oktoberfest) page. Popular events fill before the weekend, so book ahead rather than at the gate.

Question 8

Should I stay overnight in McKinney?

Accepted Answer

It's an easy way to make a weekend of the festival and skip the drive home after a late Saturday night downtown. Hotel rates for the Oktoberfest weekend are listed [here](https://www.playeasy.com/events/019fa493-ef59-76af-8cf1-60930cfa04a7).
