Chestnut Square Heritage Village
Chestnut Square Heritage Village is a collection of six historic homes, a wedding chapel, a general store, and a replica of a one-room schoolhouse situated on 2.5 acres just south of McKinney’s downtown square. The grounds also include a blacksmith shop, smokehouse, and beautiful reception gardens. The buildings include period artifacts showing how people lived in Collin County from 1854-1920. The village is home to many events including McKinney Farmers Market, Killis Melton Ice Cream Crank-Off, Legends of McKinney Ghost Walk, haunted tours, and Farm-to-Market dinners. Tours take place on Thursdays and Saturdays as well as trolley tours on the second Saturday of each month.
