Byron Nelson Set Records Nobody's Touched Since 1945

Eleven consecutive wins in a single season. Eighteen in the year. Byron then retired to a Texas ranch at thirty-four, and in 1968 this tournament became the first on the PGA Tour named for a professional golfer, a distinction it still carries to this day.

The tournament he lent his name to has become one of the most charitable events in golf with proceeds benefiting the Momentous Institute's work with children and families, more than $195 million to date per the tournament and the Salesmanship Club of Dallas.
