About this event
Music does more than entertain us. It becomes part of our memories, shapes our identities, and creates connections that can bring an entire community together. Join Laurie Garvie, Executive Director and President of the Richardson Symphony Orchestra, at MillHouse McKinney for a conversation about the power of the arts to connect, inspire, and enrich our lives.
Laurie will share the story of her journey with the Richardson Symphony Orchestra and offer a behind-the-scenes look at the many ways a symphony serves its community both on stage and beyond. You'll discover how music and the arts can create meaningful connections, inspire creativity, and become an important part of a thriving community.
Drawing from her experience in nonprofit leadership, fundraising, marketing, and community engagement, Laurie will also share what goes into supporting a symphony orchestra and creating meaningful experiences for audiences. Whether you're an arts enthusiast, nonprofit professional, creative, community leader, or simply someone who believes the arts make our communities stronger, this conversation offers a chance to see the work behind the performances and the impact that happens beyond the concert hall.
Come spend your lunch hour exploring the role of the arts in our everyday lives, hearing from a longtime North Texas arts leader, and connecting with other members of the MillHouse community.
Lunch Bunch Speaker Series is an informal conversation around topics of interest to members and nonmembers. Lunch is not provided, but you're welcome to bring your own. The event is free and all are welcome.
