About this event
Break out the caftans, leisure suits, costume jewelry, and platform shoes for Roper Romp & Stanleys Too, a free, public celebration of colorful 1970s fashion and classic television nostalgia in Historic Downtown McKinney. The afternoon begins at The Pub, transformed for the occasion into our gathering place, where participants can meet fellow Ropers and Stanleys, take photographs, enjoy food and beverages available for purchase, and show off their most delightfully outrageous retro attire.
From 2:00 to 4:00 PM, guests will be encouraged to explore participating restaurants, boutiques, galleries, and specialty shops throughout Historic Downtown McKinney. The celebration returns to The Pub for prizes and raffle drawings from 4:00 to 4:30 PM. Costumes are encouraged but not required.
Come as Mrs. Roper, bring your favorite Stanley, dress as another retro-inspired character, or simply join the fun as you are. Visitors and residents are all welcome. Admission is free. Individual food, beverages, and merchandise purchases are not included. Additional participating businesses, activities, and prize information will be announced on the event’s Facebook page.
