The McKinney Chupacabras

01 A Team with a Very McKinney Name The McKinney Chupacabras joined the USL2 league in 2024, with fans getting a say in the name and crest.
02 Summer Nights at Ron Poe Stadium Home matches run May through July at Ron Poe Stadium, just a short drive from downtown. Grab a ticket, bring the noise, and make a night of it.
03 A Community Game The Chupacabras put a free mini pitch at TUPPS Brewery, giving the community a place to play year-round. Kids can kick a ball, families can hang out, and anyone can get in the game or sign up for adult leagues.
Insider tip from Visit McKinney Make a night of it: catch a Chupacabras match at Ron Poe, then head downtown for dinner, drinks, or a stroll around the square. It's a pretty great way to spend a summer night in McKinney. Rights-holders interested in seeing a game? Tickets can be arranged so you can see just how much McKinney shows up for sports.

Insider tip from Visit McKinney Build your schedule around the fields, not the clock. McKinney's lighted facilities let tournaments keep playing after sunset, giving planners more flexibility to fit games into fewer days—and teams more time to enjoy the city between matches.

Straight from the Planners

From the People Who Run These Events

“

As the operator of more than 20 soccer tournaments and five leagues, our team always looks forward to hosting events in the City of McKinney. This past year we hosted an international, girls-only tournament — a five-day event that brought teams from across the U.S. together with competitors from Canada, Colombia, Denmark, France, Mexico, and The Netherlands. Working with the City's Parks & Recreation Department and Visit McKinney staff was instrumental in the event's success.
