Board Meetings
Board meetings take place on the fourth Tuesday of each month beginning at 8 a.m. Special meetings are held as needed for strategic planning and other Visit McKinney business needs. The location of each meeting is denoted on the posted meeting agenda.

Visit McKinney Board Members
Visit McKinney is served by a seven-member Board of Directors who are appointed by the McKinney City Council and who serve staggered terms of two years; board members may serve up to three terms. The following are the Visit McKinney board members for the 2025-26 fiscal year.
Katie Scott Board Chair
Katie Scott is the owner of two shops in Downtown McKinney - the Groovy Coop, a vintage boutique that opened in 2015, and Red Zeppelin Records that opened in mid-2020 and frequently features live performances by local musicians, too. In early 2021, the record store expanded to include a record label that focuses on up-and-coming McKinney musical artists. In fall of 2021, Red Zeppelin began doubling its space to make room for an actual performance venue and bar. This expansion was completed in early 2022.
Brian Medina Vice Chair
Brian Medina is currently VP of Talent Acquisition and Strategy at Self Opportunity Inc., providing recruitment advertising, employment branding, and staffing, for the restaurant industry. He is on the board of the Greater Dallas Chapter of the Texas Restaurant Association and serves on the state and foundation boards for the association. Brian recently completed a six-year tenure on the Heritage Guild of Collin County board, also known as Chestnut Square. A member of the 2024 Leadership McKinney class, Brian has lived in McKinney with his wife Erin since 2015, and they cherish the vibrant community of friends they've cultivated in the historic district.
Keith Gall Board Treasurer
Keith Gall spent much of his life in North Texas and is a proud McKinney resident since 2006. He is a graduate of the University of Texas at Dallas, receiving his B.S. in Economics, and is pursuing his Master's in Public Policy. Keith has previously served on the Building and Standards Commission for the City of McKinney. He has been married to his wife, Leigh, for nine years, and they have two children.
Janie Peña Board Member
Janie Pena has had extensive administrative professional experience in the areas of education, external affairs, transportation, government relations and customer service. Although retired she continues to serve on several boards including the Seed Project Foundation Board in McKinney and the Baylor Scott and White University Medical Center Board in Dallas. Previous board service includes Frontiers of Flight Museum; Mi Escuelita; Brother Bill’s Helping Hand; and several chambers including the Metrocrest Chamber Board. Janie received her Ed.M. degree from Harvard and a B.S. in education from Texas Christian University.
Patrick McGuire Board Member
Patrick McGuire has over 20 years of experience in travel, tourism, and hospitality marketing for companies such as Continental/United Airlines, IHG, Hilton, Apple Leisure Group, and Hyatt. He is a graduate of The Elliott School of International Affairs at George Washington University and The Orfalea College of Business at California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly). Patrick enjoys traveling (having visited all 50 US states), photography, and building furniture.

Carol Sullivan Board Member
Carol Wilmot Sullivan has extensive experience in advertising, marketing, and event branding through her work with CW Designs Marketing and CW Designs Invitations, as well as in publishing and content creation with Thrift Guides. She has developed campaigns, curated events, and designed marketing materials that combine strategy with creative design. Carol has lived in McKinney for 12 years with her husband, Jeremy, and their two children, Olivia and Kienan. She enjoys thrifting, family time, and discovering unique design inspiration.
Taryne Bolton Board Alternate
Taryne brings civic leadership, strategic insight, and inclusive engagement to the Visit McKinney Board. As a longtime resident, she is dedicated to enhancing local experiences and building connections. With a background in public education and public service, she has led award-winning initiatives and held key roles in local PTAs. Her campaign leadership has strengthened her skills in civic strategy, marketing, and event planning. Taryne is recognized for her collaborative spirit and commitment to shaping McKinney’s identity through inclusive storytelling.
