Disc Golf Courses
The City of McKinney has two public disc golf courses. Both are free of charge to use with free parking easily accessible close to the courses.
Alex Clark Memorial Disc Golf Course
1986 Park View Ave. - just west of Central Expy.
Originally a 10-hole course established in 1992, this 18-acre course features 18 baskets and concrete tee pads. Parking is at the Ruschhaupt Soccer Complex - Phase I. Also at this location are public restrooms, hike and bike trails, and if walking a bit west of the parking lot, a playground and splash pad. This course also features a statue dedicated to the memory of a high school-aged boy, Alex Clark, for whom the course is named because of his love of the game. The course is mostly flat, fairly short shots, shady and tight through tall trees with a winding creek. This course is great for novice and intermediate players. View a map of the course HERE.
Towne Lake Disc Golf Course
1405 Wilson Creek Pkwy. - just east of Central Expy.
This 18-hole disc golf course, established in 2009, is located on the southeast edge of Towne Lake Park just south of the Wilson Creek Softball Complex with ample parking available in the large south Towne Lake parking lot. The course is mostly flat with longer shots than the Alex Clark course and considerably more wooded as well as having concrete tee pads and lots of shade. Wilson Creek runs throughout the course, making it perfect for more seasoned players who are accustomed to more challenging courses.
