Rick's Chophouse

The brunch buffet also includes several lunch items from Rick's standing menu, cold items (fresh fruit, shrimp cocktail, and a seasonal salad), and  desserts including miniature pecan pie, chocolate mousse, and miniature creme brulee. The highlight of the brunch at Rick's Chophouse is the carving station (shown here) where guests are served fresh-carved prime rib with creamy horseradish and au jus, baked ham, and pork tenderloin with chipotle barbeque sauce.

Cost: $30 for adults and $15 for children 12 and under.

About Ricks: Located at 107 North Kentucky Street, Rick's Chophouse is an upscale steakhouse renowned for its Southern hospitality and gourmet menu featuring steaks and seafood with local influences. Situated next to and below The Grand Hotel in Downtown McKinney, Rick's is a popular spot for all occasions from business lunches and birthday dinners to romantic nights out and wedding-related events. 

 

Harvest at The Masonic

The sizable brunch menu starts with small plates featuring Harvest's signature deviled eggs, sweet potato hummus, pastry basket, and more. The abundant menu of brunch salads, soups, and sandwiches includes a variety of greens and grains, soup of the day, grilled cheese, chicken and turkey sandwiches, and a house hamburger. Entree items include chicken, steak, seared shrimp, chicken fried steak, breakfast hash (shown here), and French toast. The bar menu feature a bloody mary bar and mimosa flight.

Cost: Menu prices vary from $8 to $20 with cocktails from the bar priced at $12 each.

About Harvest: Named a Michelin-recognized restaurant in late 2024, Harvest at The Masonic is a farm-to-table restaurant emphasizing seasonal menus sourced from local farmers and artisans. Housed in the historic Masonic Lodge in Downtown McKinney, Harvest features a dining area and large bar on the first floor, a private and intimate dining room and the restaurant kitchen on the middle floor, and a smaller bar with ample seating and a stage where live music is featured every evening (Tuesday-Saturday).

 

The Stix Icehouse

There are also a few morning cocktails from which to choose including a mimosa, spritzes, and a bloody Mary flight.

Cost: Entrees range from $9.99 to $16.99, kids' entrees are all $7.99 and come with a Rice Krispie Treat, and cocktails are $12 to $15.

About Stix Icehouse: Nestled among in the trees at 301 Eldorado Parkway #100, The Stix Icehouse is known for its expansive outdoor area, live music, two bars, indoor game area, and casual dining experience. The favorite of McKinney locals and visitors alike, it'll quickly become a favorite with your family, especially your kids and grandkids. Stix features a vast yard in which to romp (which also happens to connect to nearby Towne Lake Park's trails) as well as games like tether ball, corn hole, and ping pong, and even a sizeable tree house built on a platform just off the patio. Not only does this popular eatery have a large dining area inside, filled with tables, booths, high boys, and bar seating, there is also a large patio filled with picnic tables sporting umbrellas. Sugarbacon Proper Kitchen

Entree options include delectable items like lobster benedict, breakfast tacos, shrimp and grits, peaches and cream French toast, avocado toast, chicken and waffles, steak and eggs, and a pulled pork benedict. The eatery also has a good selection of handheld sandwiches and salads, tasty sides (including truffle fries, sweet potato mash fritters, lobster mac & cheese, and more), and a handful of dessert choices. You'll also find several brunch cocktails on their drink menu.

This popular eatery also offers a Brunch Party Menu, perfect for families and friends in town for weddings or other events, or for corporate or social morning events.

Cost: Sugarbacon's weekend brunch items range in price from $8 to $25. (The Lobster Benedict is a market price item.) The Brunch Banquet Menu cost ranges from $30 to $55 per person for multiple appetizers, entrees, and desserts per guest.

About Sugarbacon Proper Kitchen: This Downtown McKinney eatery is located in one side of an old gas station, but it certainly doesn't feel or look like it. Featuring cozy booths, tables, and bar seating as well as an area that can be converted into a private dining room, thanks to a sliding door, and a comfortable front patio that sits just above the sidewalk on a raised deck. Located at 216 West Virginia Street, Sugarbacon is known for its signature sugar bacon appetizer - a plate of braised pork belly and peach chambal.

 

The Celt Irish Pub

Yes, their brunch menu does feature some classic Southern and Tex-Mex options (i.e. biscuits and gravy and migas) as well as the types of items you'd expect for breakfast - omelets, French toast, Eggs Benedict, country platter of eggs, hash browns and your choice of bacon, ham, or sausage, and a breakfast sandwich. But to go "all out" with the Irish fare, try the Brunch Full Irish Fry Up (pictured here) or the Scotch Egg. Their weekend brunch menu is available Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Cost: Brunch entrees at The Celt range from $10.99 to $19.99.

About The Celt: A mainstay in Historic Downtown McKinney, The Celt Irish Pub is one of the most popular spots to hang out with friends to enjoy a pint and a plate of fish and chips or another dish from their sizable menu, or to play pool or watch soccer on the multiple TVs on the second floor. A more intimate dining area is available on the ground floor, but honestly, most people gravitate upstairs ... it's where the action is! The Celt is also a big supporter of live music, featuring area musicians Thursday-Saturday evenings, a regular open mic night, and even a music circle a couple times a week featuring a rotating group of of typically 10 or more, playing traditional Irish music. The Celt has received acclaim, being named by Irish Pubs Global as the Irish Pub of the Year in the Americas (2019) and Best Irish Whiskey Experience in North America (2018). The pub is also quite popular with the locals, regularly receiving awards from local publications as best bar/pub/nightlife and best music venue since it was founded by owner Stan Penn in 2015.

 

Local Yocal BBQ & Grill

Sides include eggs, toast and house preserves, breakfast potatoes, and homestead gristmill grits. This enticing brunch menu also offers signature brunch craft cocktails and classic cocktails (mimosas and a Bloody Mary). The brunch menu may change slightly based on the season and availability of farm-fresh items from area growers.

Cost: Brunch menu items at Local Yocal run the gamut from $10 to $18 for entrees, $3 to $6 for sides, and cocktails ranging from $6 to $17.

About Local Yocal BBQ & Grill: Local Yocal BBQ & Grill is an extension of McKinney’s renowned butcher shop, Local Yocal Farm to Market, founded by rancher and restaurateur Matt Hamilton. Both establishments were created to offer an authentic Texas dining experience—centered around premium beef, straightforward hospitality, and a commitment to responsible sourcing. Like the market, the restaurant embodies the values of a true family-owned business, built with passion, integrity, and a dedication to quality and sustainability.

Located in the historic King Grocery warehouse, the restaurant takes pride serves top-quality meats sourced directly from its own butcher shop at 213 N. Tennessee. Under the direction of Chef Adam West, the menu highlights specialty Wagyu steaks, expertly crafted barbecue, and classic Southern Americana dishes. The bar offers a thoughtfully curated lineup of local craft beers, single-barrel bourbons, hand-selected wines, and barrel-aged cocktails.

 

Urban Grill & Wine Bar

pancakes with banan, walnuts, and baconUrban Grill's weekend brunch menu, served Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., features special creations from Chef David Hall, the owner/executive chef at the helm of this Downtown McKinney eatery.  The specialty culinary delights filling the limited menu include avocado toast on sourdough with apple, stilton blue cheese, prosciutto, and egg with pesto; a breakfast bowl of poached eggs, bacon, roasted cherry tomatoes, avocado, and breakfast potatoes with sourdough; and pot roast hash. You'll also find eggs benedict, pancakes, and bloody Mary with pickled vegetables.

Cost: Brunch entrees at Urban Grill range from $15 to $17, and cocktails are $12. Reservations are recommended. (Find the online reservation tool at the bottom of the menu.)

About this spot: Urban Grill & Wine Bar quickly became a popular night-out spot with the locals after opening in 2021. (Owners Chef David and his wife moved here from California where they had almost 25 years in the restaurant business.) With a dinner menu filled with entrees including filet mignon, prime ribeye, seafood linguine, fettuccine bolognese, grilled mahi, and more, the upscale dining spot also has specialty appetizer options including grilled asparagus with pistachio pesto and feta, brussels sprouts, basmati rice, and three types of French fries. Lunch time offerings include small plates of calamari, crab cakes, meatballs, fish & chips, and mussels, among a few others as well as salads and sandwiches - chicken, turkey, cheese steak - and one that sounds especially delicious, the sesame crusted ahi sandwich that comes with house slaw, peanut sauce and avocado. Also on the menu: tempting desserts, craft cocktail menu, and sizable beer and wine lists.

 

The Elwood BFD

Although limited in items available, the menu options are not short on flavor and combinations including their special recipe for twisty bacon (pictured here). The brunch cocktail menu is also filled with tempting adult beverages sure to tempt your tastebuds - Dreamsicle Mimosa, Blackberry Champagne Mule, Pirate Coffee, Bloody Mary, and a caraffe of mimosas.

Cost: Brunch entrees run the price gamut from $13 to $16 while cocktails are $12 to $18.

About The Elwood BFD: This fun and laid-back eatery is located in southwest McKinney's Hub 121 in Craig Ranch. Their menu is filled with interesting appetizers (chicharones, deviled eggs, hot broccoli. pan tossed brussels sprouts, loaded tots, and more), salads and sides, entrees (beer braised BBQ port shank, pastrami & corned beef sandwich, fish & chips, burger, etc.), desserts, and cocktails as well as a kids' menu (all set at $9 per child-sized entree). Those with dietary concerns will be happy to know they have clearly-marked vegan and gluten-free options.

 

Chain Restaurants in McKinney with Brunch Menus

While we aren't going into detail about these places, there are a few chain eateries in McKinney that offer dedicated brunch menus. (Again, these are not the types of places that only serve breakfast/brunch and lunch.)
